Fun with Yarn Day 1

Fun with Yarn: Monday

I have a great group of girls in Fun with yarn this week. We did lots of things today in Fun with yarn. In the morning we made pom pom pets and in the afternoon we made yarn dolls. The girls had lots of fun!

 Cat in the Hat greeted me in the morning...oops I forgot to take it down after Dr. Seuss camp last month! Oh well he has been greeting everyone all summer!

 The girls were very patient while they waited for my help!

Spent the day painting in someone's back yard. It was actually down the street from me! They had an idyllic garden, would love to go back sometime!

Art Through the Ages: Day 5

Art through the Ages: Modern Art

Today we learned about modern art. We learned about Abstract Expressionism and the patinging of Jackson Pollock, Surrealism and the artwork of Salvador Dali, and Pop Art and the artwork of Andy Warhol and we created paintings and drawings in all of these styles.

 We did marble painting. It was like the painting that Jackson Pollock did.

 We made surrealist puzzles.

 We made large dollar bills like Andy Warhol did.

 We also made large drawings of our snacks in the style like Andy Warhol

We had a great week learning about history and art!
