Art through the Ages: Modern Art part 1

Today we began to learn about modern art and the importance of photography. In the morning we went outside to paint like the Realists and made photo prints. 

 In the afternoon we watch Linnea in Monet's Garden and learned about the Impressionists. We did dot paintings like the impressionists and made tissue paper Lilly Pad ponds like in Monet's Garden.

 The boys decided to mix their colors together and they discovered how to make brown.

We had a great day!

Art through the Ages Day 3

Today we studied Medieval times or the Middle Ages. In the morning we made a Medieval Feast and learned how to weave.

 Our Counselors were put to work untangling some of the weavings that got mixed up.

 In the afternoon we created Castles, but the kids just couldn't stop weaving!

They made some great castles today and then they enjoyed playing with them, too.
